David Wilson, Managing Director of Montalto Estate was recently included in the prestigious Northern Ireland top 40 under 40 list at an event held in The Malone Lodge hotel. This event organised by Business First recognises talented individuals in business in Northern Ireland.
Now in its fourth year, this prestigious list recognises people under the age of 40 who have, either personally or as part of a team, been responsible for helping to advance a Northern Ireland business or organisation in a demonstrable way within the last 12 months.
David is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants with ‘Big Four’ experience in both Dublin and Belfast. Coming from a family with two previous generations of business success in Northern Ireland, it was always David’s intention to be his own boss. That opportunity arose in 2009 when the Wilson family recognised a demand for an exclusive luxury venue for business and private purposes. By utilising their former family home, Montalto House opened as a private hire venue in 2010.
In 2012, the business expanded when The Carriage Rooms at Montalto was launched. Continuing to aim at the top end of the market, this venue is consistently shortlisted in UK and Ireland wide wedding publications and was crowned Best Wedding Venue UK by Hudson’s Guide in 2014.
