The Café at Montalto is a stylish eatery which specialises in locally inspired dishes that people love – all served the Montalto way.
There are areas on the 400-acre estate where the gardening team, led by Head Gardener, Lesley Heron grows quite a bit of produce for use in The Café. Showcasing the produce of local, artisan suppliers and incorporating it into their dishes has enabled Montalto to nurture strong relations with them. Head Chef, Paul Ferguson uses many suppliers including Springmount Farm, Ewing’s Seafoods and Draynes Farm in the weekly specials. The reason for this is simple: supporting these producers as well as growing our own produce, helps to sustain the local economy and ensures that we can use the freshest, highest quality, naturally grown produce.

Although delicious food made simple is very much our ethos, we know that great food is never just about taste, it’s about the environment, the feelings it evokes, and the entire dining experience.
With this in mind, the Café at Montalto has been lovingly designed to capture the essence of the estate; the wonderful open-plan design and natural-themed decor are intended to complement the beautiful surroundings of Montalto.
Finally, trees, flowers, and shrubbery are prominent throughout the interior, while many of the eatery’s interior furniture pieces have been handmade from trees sourced on the estate. This ‘natural beauty everywhere’ design approach ensures a natural, memorable, and thoroughly relaxing dining environment, that’s conducive to healthy eating and personal wellbeing.
When you visit the Cafe at Montalto you can expect to find a range of delicious menu options which include homely soups, warming stews, spicy curries, healthy fish dishes – as well as a selection of flatbreads, all cooked freshly for you in our authentic Italian pizza oven.
Because no meal is ever really complete without some sweet indulgence, you’ll want to top it all off with a delicious freshly-baked dessert from our patisserie counter. Our selection of sweet treats will make your eating experience one to remember.

Enjoy local Draynes Farm Ice Cream, tempting Sundaes and Desserts, homemade Traybakes and Scones, as well as Hot Food & Drink options.
Our new dog-friendly seating area means you can delight in your ice cream not matter the weather. Don’t worry your dog won’t be left out as we are now stocking Frozzys Frozen Yoghurt, or why not treat them to our speciality Puppaccino?
In The Stables you will find delicious snacks and drinks to take away.
Our menu includes hot options such as roasted Givan’s ham and mature cheddar panini and children’s sausages and chips, individual salads and delicious ice cream with mouthwatering toppings.
During low season The Stables’ opening hours are weather dependent, and can vary. Please contact our office in advance for more information.
An outdoor seating area is also available to use when purchasing snacks from The Stables.
Dogs are welcome in this outdoor seating area.
